Hope Custom Paint has made its mark in the field of custom painting and fine art. It is located in Fremont, California a part of the San Francisco Bay Area and is owned and operated by Artist Bob Hope and his wife Bonnie.
Bob was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Fremont, California shortly after Hawaii became the 50th state of the union.
He has always had a passion for colors, drawing, and creating life-like images with realistic results.
As a budding young artist, he was educated in the fundamentals of composition, contents, and colors under the influence of Eva Lee in the early 70’s. Through strict discipline and the respect for depth and integrity of his subject matter, Bob has established photorealism in his artwork.
After honing his skills and the desire to paint, the use of paints, brushes, canvas, and the airbrush opened up a new world to express his love and interests in aviation 35 years ago. That passion can be clearly seen in his original artwork, prints, and noseart on full scale aircraft.
“I believe the biggest challenge for an artist is to begin with a fresh white canvas, and create a scene through his minds eye of the past, or present with all its splendor and raw beauty of aviation or whatever the artwork may represent”, Bob says.
Although aviation is his first love, there was something lacking in the expression of his artwork which he found in custom painting. There the boundaries were unlimited in colors, graphics, and the freedom to create wild and colorful images. Flames, skulls, ghost effects, vivid graphics, murals, and the skilled use of his airbrush found a home at his 2500 square foot shop in Fremont, California.
